On December 5th 2009, Fox Video Productions, Inc. graciously volunteered our services as well as our expertise in helping to raise monetary donations for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge of Staten Island. How, you may ask? Well the rainy, icy almost snowy, frigged event was captured on video! Brrrrrrr! Don’t let the cold scare you, we all had such a wonderful time!! Fox Video will be selling the edited DVD’s to the Plungers as well as to others who want to continue to donate. All of the profits will be going to the Special Olympics.
Let me explain who the Polar Plunge are. A Polar Plunge is a group of big hearted selfless individuals, who have grouped themselves together to become an organization to raise charitable donations through family, friends and yes even strangers for the Special Olympics. These brave volunteers raise money and in return they guarantee to run into freezing cold water during a specific December day.
Fox Video Productions Inc. was contacted by a executive at the Special Olympics and was asked to provide our services to recorded the event. We told them we would be more then happy to help. So on December 5th, 2009, two cameramen, went out in the pouring rain. It was freezing out on the beach in 32 degree weather. It was freezing outside in general, but out in the open it seems as if the wind was blowing hard and let me tell you, it felt colder! However, the devotion and love of the wonderful organization, fill the beach with warmth!. We all laughed and had a great time!
